Delete My Data
Exercise your right to erasure under UK GDPR Article 17. Remove your data from the Is This Safe? app and our servers.
Option 1: Delete Local Data (On Your Device)
Your scan history, trusted/blocked lists, and app settings are stored only on your phone. To delete this data:
Open Settings
Tap the Settings tab at the bottom of the app.
Clear History
Tap "Clear Scan History" to remove all saved scans from your device.
Reset Lists
Your trusted and blocked domain lists will also be cleared.
Uninstall (Optional)
Deleting the app from your phone removes all remaining local data permanently.
Option 2: Request Server Data Deletion
Although we store minimal data on our servers (anonymous scan logs for rate limiting and service improvement), you can submit a formal data deletion request under UK GDPR Article 17 using the form below.
What Happens After You Submit
Once your deletion request is received, we follow a structured process in accordance with UK GDPR requirements:
Within 24 Hours
Your request is acknowledged and logged for processing.
Within 30 Days
All associated data is identified and permanently deleted from our servers.
Confirmation Sent
If you provided an email address, we will send you a confirmation once deletion is complete.
Your Rights Under UK GDPR
Under UK GDPR Article 17, you have the right to request the erasure of your personal data without undue delay. This is also known as the "right to be forgotten".

- ✔ We will process all deletion requests within 30 days (one calendar month) as required by UK GDPR
- ✔ You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are unsatisfied with our response

What Data Exists on Our Servers?
For full transparency, here is what our servers may contain:
- ✔ Anonymous scan logs (scan type, timestamp, verdict)
- ✔ Submitted URLs or text for analysis (no personal identifiers attached)
- ✔ File metadata (name, type, hash) — never the actual file
- ✔ User-submitted feedback reports
- ✔ Community threat reports (indicator type, value, and spam/safe verdict)
- ✘ Personal information (name, email, phone, address)
- ✘ Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- ✘ Location data
- ✘ Contacts, photos, or other device content
- ✘ User accounts or passwords (we have no sign-up)
